Cord Jefferson (born January 1, 1982) is an American filmmaker, journalist, and essayist. He has worked on the TV series Watchmen (for which he won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing), Succession, The Good Place, and Master of None. For his feature directorial debut American Fiction (2023), Jefferson won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as an NAACP Image Award, a Writers Guild of America Awards, and a BAFTA Award.
